Particularly, soil-working, preservation and preliminary processing reached the highest rate of mechanization: 92% for soil-working, and 90% for preservation and preliminary processing; 38% for rice sowing; 69% for plant cultivation and protection and 38% for crop harvest. However, the rate of mechanization in 2007 is generally increased only by 2-4%, not high compared to 2006.
As for consuming and using Vietnamese agricultural machinery and equipment in the provincial area, 410 machines and equipment of various kinds worth more than VND1.52 billion were consumed in 2007.
The coordination in agricultural mechanization among consuming households, agricultural machinery producers, state management agencies and unions have brought many positive changes. Accordingly, the sale of machinery with deferred payments for farmers has become more simple, the time farmers paying debts for enterprises has been prolonged (after 3 harvests, farmers would complete their payments instead of 9 months in the past). This has created opportunities for farmers to purchase machinery and equipment serving agricultural production, gradually increasing the rate of agricultural mechanization.
Reportedly, in 2008, the network of mechanics will be developed to maintain and repair machines and agricultural facilities, and after-sales services will be promoted so that the program on the sale of machines with deferred payments for farmers can be carried out favorably in accordance with the approved project on developing the network of mechanics in the provincial area.
