In addition to humanitarian mobilization purposes, Nhon Trach Red Cross focuses on strengthening its machinery and admitting new members. Up to now, Nhon Trach has had more than 8,100 members.

To implement the “Every organization, and every individual is associated with a charity address” movement initiated in 2008 by the Central Red Cross, Nhon Trach Red Cross called for 49 units and individuals to seek donations in VND403 million (or US$19,384.9) for 100 poor and disabled people, and for Agent Orange victims, and gave away 72 wheelchairs worth VND109 million.
Particularly, at grassroots levels Nhon Trach Red Cross called for people’s social aids worth over VND11.873 billion (or US$571,108) that are given to nearly 70,000 people and Red Cross officers and members’ 24,275 labor days.
Nhon Trach Red Cross established
20 first-aid and emergency stations in hamlets, providing treatment for 840
emergency cases concerning unexpected accidents and illnesses, cooperating with
groups of doctors and nurses from inside and outside the district and calling
for them to provide treatment for and to give away medicines to the poor, the
elderly and those making great contributions to the revolution, making
humanitarian eye surgeries for over 2,000 blind needy people, and calling for
people to donate 2,700 humanitarian blood units.
The Red Cross’ herbal medicine groups provided mobile humanitarian health
check-ups for 50,059 poor patients.
In the forthcoming time, Nhon Trach Red Cross will keep implementing the renewal of the Red Cross’ organizational structure and action methods, expanding making forms of humanitarian movement grow, focusing on mobilization values, and providing assistance for needy households or for underprivileged families.
Other humanitarian forms like receiving humanitarian blood donations, and providing love meals for the poor patients that are being treated at district hospitals are implemented.
