Since 2006, the department’s Youth Union has focused on stepping up study encouragement movements, performing the campaign “For Our Beloved Children”; preserving and promoting compassionate tradition, encouraging and calling compassion toward poor students, especially to those who could not afford to attend schools.

The union had raised VND113,921,800 for social activities and charity and study encouragement since 2006, said Mrs. Le Kim Ngan, member of the Youth Union. Certain activities such as charity fund raising, gift giving and scholarship granting to poor-but-studious students were carried out in March annually and marked  by the union as the youth project. In 2009 alone, the Youth Union totally raised VND11,988,000 for charity.
