Number of Ebullient Activities held to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day and Hai Ba Trung Insurrection

In order to mark the 100th anniversary of Women’s Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2010) and the 1970th year of Hai Ba Trung Insurrection, a massive number of ebullient activities have taken place across the province.

In addition, other activities such as contests on cooking, flower arrangement; performance exchange; sports and telling stories about Uncle Ho, etc. were held.

The federation also commended 33 prominent individuals and groups in movement of patriotic emulation.

Commending and rewarding the prominent examples

    The Women’s Federation of Trang Bom district in cooperation with the district’s department of education organized a contest entitled “Female Teachers’ Charm”; and held traditional get-together of the association cadres in periods; performances, sports, cuisine contest; sightseeing, etc.

    The federation also commended 28 prominent groups and 100 individuals.

    In addition to performances and the traditional game of drawing question and answering, the Bien Hoa city Women’s Federation of Bien Hoa city held the contests on knowledge of the patriotic emulation movement; cooking and singing; and traditional get-together, etc.

    The federation also commended two prominent groups and 18 individuals; gave 53 badges entitled “For Women’s Development”.

    On March 5, Bien Hoa city held the conference to end five years of women’s dual excellence emulation movement in workers, employees and laborers. At the conference, 15 grassroots units of Trade Union and women’s boards with excellent achievements in the movement honorably received the city-level certificates of merit and six groups and 14 individuals were suggested being given the provincial level commending and rewarding.
