(News Portal – Dong Nai) – Tan Trieu's pomelo (Vinh Cuu district) is one of Dong Nai's famous specialties. Among them, the orange leaf variety grown on Tan Trieu islet, Tan Binh commune and some communes: Binh Loi, Binh Hoa, Thanh Phu has a characteristic sweet, mildly sour and succulent flavor. This pomelo variety has been certified as a geographical indication, a guarantee for the local agricultural product brand.

Accordingly, the selling price of these pomelos is often higher than the general market average. In particular, this specialty pomelo area is currently in the Lunar New Year season, the most exciting season for consuming this product of the year. The price of pomelo farmers sell at their gardens is increasing compared to a few weeks ago.

Due to unfavorable weather, the supply of pomelo specialties of Vinh Cuu province for the Lunar New Year 2024 market is lower than usual, especially grade 1 pomelo. Accordingly, the selling price of grade 1 pomelo sold at garden houses is quite high. Specifically, first-class green-skinned, pink-fleshed pomelo's price ranges from 35 to 40 thousand VND/kg, an increase of about 10 thousand VND/kg compared to a few weeks ago. In the Tet pomelo crop, gardeners often sell it in dozens and currently the market price ranges from 700-800 thousand VND for a pack of 12 fruits, orange leaf sugary pomelos are priced from 500-600 thousand VND for 12 fruits. Compared to the same period last year, green-skinned pomelos with pink flesh had the same selling price, while orange-leaf sugary pomelos were priced cheaper, at 100 to 200 thousand VND for 12 fruits. Because this year's purchasing power is weaker than usual, the supply of pomelos in gardens is still quite abundant waiting for buyers.
