Accelerate the construction of traffic works

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) – On February 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the State Steering Committee for important national and key works and projects in the transportation sector (Steering Committee) presided over the 9th working session of the Steering Committee. 

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc chaired the meeting at the Provincial People's Committee bridge broadcasting. 

The meeting was conducted in an online format between the Government headquarters and 46 municipal cities and provinces that have important national and key transport projects. Also attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, and leaders of central ministries and agencies. At Dong Nai, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc chaired the meeting. Also participating was Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi.

The meeting focused on discussing, evaluating the situation, proposing solutions to ensure progress and shorten the progress of works and projects, ensure the quality, engineering and artistic of works, and ensure labor safety, sanitation, surrounding environment and solving arising difficulties and problems.

According to the Ministry of Transport, in 2023 and January 2024, ministries, departments and localities have actively coordinated, made efforts to implement and achieved many results in implementing works and projects. Multiple long-term challenges and problems in some projects have been focused on such as the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project; Tan Son Nhat airport terminal T3 project; Long Thanh International Airport project.

In addition, the preparation of investment projects has been accelerated, many projects have been started such as the Eastern North - South Expressway for the period 2021-2025, 3 East - West axis projects, the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City beltway... Many projects have also finished the approval of investment policies, investment projects such as Hoa Binh - Moc Chau, Huu Nghi - Chi Lang, Dau Giay - Lien Khuong expressways and move to the selecting contractors and starting construction phase in 2024.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the implementation of important national projects in the transportation sector is challenging, both in terms of scale, subjects, and scope, with a huge total investment of 422 trillion VND in 2024. Therefore, ministries, departments, agencies and localities must implement the correct and wise policies and guidelines of the Party and State on the 3 breakthroughs strategy, including infrastructure breakthroughs, achieving set goals, contributing to rapid and sustainable development of the country. “If we disburse 422 trillion VND of investment capital for transport infrastructure projects in 2024, it will contribute to promoting growth, creating jobs and livelihoods for people, and creating new development space for localities, regions and the entire country" - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.

The Prime Minister thanked the people for agreeing, aiding, and supporting the major policies of the Party and State, giving up land and residences for projects, changing habits, customs, occupations, and livelihoods for the country's development. ​
