The site clearance work for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project must be completed before June 30

(News Portal – Dong Nai) – On February 16, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc chaired a working session with relevant units receive reports on the progress of compensation and site clearance for Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project and solutions to accelerate land acquisition and hand over the site to the investor for construction. These works are to ensure progress according to the direction of the Prime Minister. Also attending the meeting was Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi.

According to the Provincial Compensation, Site Clearance and Resettlement Support Project Management Board, as for component project 1, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project, to date, nearly 96% of total land area to be recovered has been accounted. People's Committee of Bien Hoa City and People's Committee of Long Thanh district also approved compensation and support plans for 47 cases with more than 120 billion VND.

For component 2 project, to date, nearly 92% of the land area that needs to be aquired has been accounted for. People's Committee of Long Thanh district has approved a compensation and support plan for 99 cases with more than 188 billion VND. The province has also handed over to investors more than 30 hectares for the project implementation.

Also according to the Provincial Compensation, Site Clearance and Resettlement Support Project Management Board, the process of implementing land aquisition, compensation and support is facing major challenges such as unidentified land plots with unknown owners; documents sent to localities to confirm land origin have been returned many times due to being incomplete, determining the time to construct houses for households takes a lot of time...

At the meeting, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc concluded that at the inspection and working session with the province on February 13, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the province to complete site clearance work for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project before June 30. Therefore, the amount of work to be done in the coming time is huge. Therefore, relevant units must focus on performing the tasks to the maximum to fulfill their commitments to the Government. “The units and staff carrying out site clearance work for the project must thoroughly grasp the motto of keep moving forward instead of backing down, no matter how difficult it is, even if they have to work 3 shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, as for those who don't want to do then stand aside" - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc emphasized.​

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc also requested the Provincial People's Committee Administrative Division to notify the Department of Home Affairs to conduct a civil service inspection of officials working on site clearance for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project, timely reward individuals and groups that complete tasks well. At the same time, strictly handle individuals and groups that do not complete their tasks in order to achieve the goal of completing the site clearance work before June 30.
