Promote the application of information technology in traffic management and operation

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) – The Ministry of Transport has just responded to a petition to voters in Dong Nai province on solutions to solve traffic jams on holidays, Tet, and weekends on multiple expressways, national highways, provincial roads, and inner suburbs of big cities. 

Facing the complicated situation of traffic congestion, the Ministry of Transport is continuing to coordinate with ministries, departments and localities to actively deploy a number of specific solution groups to reduce traffic congestion. Typically: ensuring land use planning and construction planning are consistent with traffic infrastructure planning; speed up construction progress to soon put into operation many key projects. In particular, the Ministry will continue to promote the application of information technology in traffic management; focus on developing public transportation, have appropriate management solutions for the use of personal motor vehicles in urban areas...

In addition, to enhance the work of ensuring traffic safety on a number of newly put into operation expressways, the Ministry of Transport has directed the Vietnam Road Administration and related units to drastically implement solutions. These solutions focus on: closely monitoring traffic flow; strengthen organizational capacity to ensure smooth traffic and reasonable flow; promptly handle and clear vehicles when congestion occurs; strengthen the application of technology in management and administration to regulate and ensure traffic safety.  ​
