Web Portal - The delegation of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong had a working session to Dong Nai on 18-12 on the progress of compensation and site clearance for Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway construction project, and the renovating and upgrading essential works in Nha Trang-Saigon section and Hanoi-HCMC railway line. Working with the delegation were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, representatives of relevant departments, branches and localities.

The Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway has a length of about 99 km. In which, the section passing Dong Nai province is 51.5 km long, passing through Xuan Loc, Cam My, Thong Nhat and Long Khanh districts. To do this, Dong Nai has to acquire an area of about 412 hectares, and has completed about 96% of the workload of the entire project so far.
For the relocation of technical infrastructure systems, localities are also completing its procedures to carry out relocation.
As for the project of renovating and upgrading essential works in Nha Trang-Saigon section and Hanoi-HCMC railway line, Xuan Loc and Trang Bom districts have completed the tallying, compiling compensation documents for compensation payment. As for Long Khanh city, there is only the section passing Long Khanh station, so there is no need to do land acquisition, but only compensation for assets on the land.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong, for the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway Construction project, the remaining area for site clearance is not large, therefore, the PPC should instruct localities to soon hand over the entire site to investors. For the relocation of the technical infrastructure system, efforts should be completed before the 2021 Lunar New Year (except for relocation of 500kV and 220kV grid systems); At the same time, to complete construction and arrange resettlement in the first quarter of 2021.
For the construction work, currently 2/3 of the project’s bidding packages in Dong Nai province have been implemented. The third package is expected to be implemented in 2020 as well.
Speaking at the conclusion, PPC Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Hoang suggested localities to strengthen mobilizing people to receive compensation and proceed to hand over premises to investors; Localities and relevant departments need to quickly complete the procedures to carry out relocation of technical infrastructure system in project area. For the resettlement, localities must coordinate closely with the Thang Long Project Management Board (Project Investor) to speed up progress and soon allocate land to the people.
