Dong Nai is the leading province in terms of area and forest cover in the region

​(CTT-Dong Nai) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just issued Decision No. 2357/QD-BNN-KL announcing the state of forests nationwide in 2022.

According to published data, by the end of 2022, the entire country has 14.7 million hectares of natural and planted forests. The national forest coverage rate is more than 42%. In which, the North Central and Central Coast regions have the highest forest coverage rate with more than 54%. The Mekong Delta has the lowest forest cover rate of less than 5%.
In the Southeast region, the forest area is more than 479 thousand hectares, the rate of forest coverage is nearly 20%. In which, Dong Nai is leading the region in both forest area and coverage. Specifically, the whole province has more than 181,000 hectares of forested land, the rate of forest coverage reaches more than 29%.
The rate of forest coverage is one of the hard criteria to evaluate the sustainable socio-economic development of a locality, region or country.
