For over 40 years, the province has been determined to develop industry to become one of Vietnam's leading economic development areas. Industrial development will increase the efficiency of land use on the same land area, create more jobs with stable income for workers both inside and outside the province, increase budget revenue.
Consistent with the chosen target, over the years, Dong Nai has built many industrial parks, attracting domestic and foreign investment. Up to now, the province has 32 established industrial parks, 31 of which are in operation.
Mr Pham Van Cuong, Deputy Head of Dong Nai Industrial Parks Management Board said: “The province's industrial parks have attracted many domestic and FDI projects. There are 1,363 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 27 billion USD, and 522 domestic projects with a total registered capital of 2.91 billion USD. Since more than 10 years, the province has attracted investment selectively, ensure that the projects licensed for investment use cutting-edge technology. Many companies invested in prior years gradually converted technology to improve production and quality.”
In recent years, the province's industrial production has grown more than 8% each year (it only increased by 6.2% in 2020 due to the Covid-19 epidemic). However, the province's industrial production increased by 8.2% from 2016 to 2020. The province's industrial value reached 709 trillion VND by the end of 2020, increased 1.6 times compared to 2015.

Mrs Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated that: “Dong Nai is a region in the Southeast with a strong integration process and industrial development, and it has consistently ranked among the top provinces and cities in the country for attracting domestic and foreign investment in industrial parks. More than 600,000 people in Dong Nai and other provinces and cities throughout the country benefit from industrial parks in the province. Industrial parks in the province provide jobs with stable income for more than 600,000 workers in Dong Nai and other provinces and cities around the country.”
Dong Nai is regarded as one of the country's industrial development provinces, and has grown to become a key industrial product supply center in Vietnam. Dong Nai is also one of the five provinces with the highest export turnover in the country, and the province has consistently had a for many years, contribute significantly to Vietnam's industrial and export development.
