Enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods

Recently, the Government issued Decision No. 386/QD-TTg approving the project of developing the domestic market in association with the campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods in the 2021-2025 period.

The scheme sets out specific goals to be achieved by 2025 such as: keep the market share of Vietnamese goods with strengths of over 85% in modern distribution channels (commercial centers, supermarkets, etc.). , convenience stores, mini supermarkets, e-commerce...) and over 80% for traditional channels such as: markets, grocery stores ... ; keep the retail sales of the domestic economic sector accounting for 85% of the total retail sales of domestic goods; more than 90% of Vietnamese consumers and businesses know about the program Identify Vietnamese goods with the name "Proud of Vietnamese goods", "Essence of Vietnamese goods"...

The project also provides four main groups of tasks to be performed, including: information, communication; develop a fixed and sustainable distribution system of goods, giving priority to Vietnamese goods; improve competitiveness for Vietnamese goods and Vietnamese enterprises; inspect, control the market and consumer protection.

At the seminar organized by the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Provincial Youth Union in early April 2021 with the theme of Starting a business in the "pre-vaccination" period, Ms Pham Thi Bich Hue, Vice President of the Young Entrepreneurs Association Vietnam shared that, in the context of the export market being heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, many domestic enterprises have shifted to develop product lines for the domestic market with many potentials and advantages in the context of the "new normal". When consumers increasingly accept domestic goods, it will promote proactively innovating technology and production lines to improve quality, design, etc. to improve competitiveness in the "home field".

In Dong Nai, in recent years, departments, branches and localities in the province have promoted the campaign Vietnamese people give priority to use Vietnamese goods, contribute to changing consumers' perception of Vietnamese goods. In addition, many businesses in the province have increased exploitation of the domestic market to have more stable inputs and outputs for products and goods, open up many opportunities in the supply-demand connection.

At the conference on implementing the tasks of the Industry and Trade sector in 2021, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang asked the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to continue focusing on implementing tasks to stabilize the domestic market; implementing e-commerce development plan tasks in the province in 2021 according to the general plan of the whole period 2021-2025. At the same time, continue to deploy the construction of Vietnamese sale points, support businesses to participate in fairs and exhibitions to enhance brand promotion, product introduction, signing of distribution contracts and product consumption …
