The Minister of National Defense Mr. Phung Quang Thanh: the People's Army Newspaper should attempt to innovate, improve profession and modernization.

In the report on the operation of People's Army Newspaper submitted to the Minister, Major General Le Phuc Nguyen, the Editor expressed: In recent time, with the close guidance of the Military Commission of the Party Central Committee and Ministry of National Defense, the People's Army Newspaper has been constantly innovating, improving the quality of publications including People's Army newspaper as well as electronic press, ensuring accurate, reliable information and right orientation. The great events of our country and the internal affairs information, especially foreign affairs defense have been promptly reported, highlighted and catching the attention of the readers. However, in the development process, the People's Army Newspaper has also met many difficulties such as uneven qualifications of reporters and editors, inadequate number of payrolls; lack of modern working equipment; low royalty regime.

After the sharing about the advantages, difficulties and occupation troubles were presented by staff, reporters, editors of the People's Army Newspaper, the Minister of National Defense Phung Quang Thanh confirmed: People's Army Newspaper is one of the main media of the Vietnam revolutionary Press, which is a trustworthy support of the Party, Government and the People, has been contributing actively to preserving and enhancing the political stance of the armed forces, building a strong national defense, establishing a revolutionary people's army, being officially elite and gradually modernized. Recently, People's Army Newspaper has been always keeping abreast of political tasks, reality and practical activities of the army and people, actively propagating the achievements of the economy, society and culture of the country, contributing to creating unity in the Party and the social consensus, and encouraging the classes of citizens to successfully implement the innovation, industrialization and modernization of the country, contributing greatly to the cause of national liberation, construction and defense.

Minister Phung Quang Thanh expects, with its long history, People's Army Newspaper promotes solidarity and unity, maintaining political orientation to deserve being a powerful tool of t​he Party for struggling ideas. To fulfill its high functions and duties, People's Army Newspaper should attempt to innovate, improve professionalism and modernization. Journalists, editors should actively learn, practice and improve all professional and personal aspects, maintain political, social responsibilities and obligations as citizens of the journalism. As for the difficulties that People's Army Newspaper are experiencing, Ministry of National Defense will consider to provide support timely, helping to improve working conditions and lives of staff, journalists, editors.
