Blood donors have been awared of their resposibility for themselves and people around.
Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Commity is awarding the Certificates of Merit to typical blood donors
Mr. Tran Van Trung, a telecommunication agent who has donated blood 7 times, said that: “Everytime I donate blood, I only think that my blood might help some body to have a chance to live. But unexpectly, those donated blood drops once saved my life!”

Last year, Mr Trung had an accident and lost lots of blood. With his blood donation card, 6 blood units were transfused without any payment because that was the interest he deserved to have for his blood donation act.
Nowadays, most people understand that blood donation does not badly damage their health, but offer for other patients chances to live… among blood donors, lots of people have donated more than ten times, such as Ms Nguyen Kim Cuc working at Construction Department who has donated 26 times, Ms Nguyen Thi Hong Diep living in La Nga commune (Dinh Quan district) with 57 times, Mr Tran Huy Hoai in Bau Sen commune (Long Khanh) with 30 times; Mr Dang Hong Chau, a police officer in Bien Hoa city with 15 times.
Mr Dau Khac Chau (Long Khanh town) shared: “in the past, everytime I donated blood, my wife and my kids complained that I take care of other people more than my family and they worry about my health very much. But after my explaination and in fact, I’m still healthy after many times donating blood, therefore, my wife and children understand what I have been doing and even willing to join with me.
There are not only individuals actively taking part in blood donation activities, but also typical families of blood donors in Dong Nai. According to the Red Cross organization of the province, there are more than 100 families whose members joined in the Blood Donation Activities. For examples, Ms Hoang Thi Kim Hiep’s family’s in Xuan Tam commune (Xuan Loc District) members have donated blood 54 times; Mr Le Van Chieu’s families in Hung Loc commune (Thong Nhat District) have donated 34 times; wounded soldier Dau Khac Chau’s family in Long Khanh town have donated 52 times…
* To make Blood Donation not only a movement
Last year, after many campaigns of encouragement and raising awareness, there were more than 25.000 people in the whole province donating blood. With 134 mobile blood drives, Provincial Steering committee of voluntary has collected 22.878 blood unit (reach 129%), meeting the needs of most hospitals in the province, serving emmergency cases and treatments in time.

Ms Vuong Thi Quyen, Chair man of the Red Cross Organization of the Province said that: “Blood donation movements in the province have been quite popular with the amount of blood collected every year much higher than planned. However, if compared with total population of the province, the number of donors is still a very small number. The amount of donated blood is not enough for treatment. Especially, Dong Nai is an industrial province which has a large number of young and strong labour force and students but only a few companies and schools join blood donation activities. There are still other people who are still indifferent with these activities, or even forbid their children to join.
Dr. Le Ngoc An, vice president of Blood Transfusion Center in Cho Ray erea (HCMC) said that: “in recent years, the blood amount collected from Dong Nai has very good quality, 80% can be used. We hope that every people in Dong Nai will be more active in such practical activities.
To make Blood donation activities not only promoted by mobolizations, The Red Cross Organization has been aiming at propagating people working for companies, firms, schools and every neighborhood.
