According to the announcement, cadres, public servants, armed force, labors in Party agencies, authorities, unions, state, private enterprises and foreign invested ones will have days off from Jan. 25, 2009 to Jan. 28, 2009 ( 30th day of the last Lunar month 20008 to 3rd  day of the first Lunar month).    

Because Jan. 25 (30th day of the last lunar month 2009) coincides with Sunday, it will be made up on Thursday, Jan. 29 (4th day of the Lunar New Year)

Students in schools will have days off in accordance with regulations of Ministry of Education and Training. 

Heads of offices and agencies have to assign leaders and guards to be on duty all day long on Tet holiday and have days off to make up in order to timely deal with unexpected work.  

On the occasion of 75th establishment anniversary of Vietnamese communist Party (3 – 2 – 1930/3 – 2 - 2009) and the year of the water buffalo celebration, units, agencies, afforestation yards, army barracks, schools, hospitals, households have to fly the national flag from Jan. 24, 2009 to the end of Feb. 3, 2009. Further, they have to clean offices, roads, and schools.
