A Get-together on the Occasion of the 101th Anniversary of International Women’s Day and the 1971th Anniversary of  Hai Ba Trung Uprising

The get-together was attended by Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Chairwoman of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Head of Dong Nai Commission for People Mobilization Work Bui Ngoc Thanh and Head of Dong Nai Commission for Propaganda and Education Huynh Van Toi.

Participants reminisced about the historical tradition and meaning of International Women's Day (March 8) and the 1971th Anniversary of Hai Ba Trung Uprising.

In recent years, Dong Nai’s levels of Women’s Association along with women all over the country have made non-stop efforts to get over difficulties and challenges, and then obtained significant achievements.

Levels of Women’s Association has taken initiative to creatively modify their operational contents and methods, shown their solidarity, gathered and encouraged all classes of women to participate in patriotic emulation movements, and contributed to the completion of the objectives of socio-economic development.

Among most of the major targets set in the resolution by the Congress of levels of Women’s Association in 2006-2011 period, six targets were met and exceeded.

Up to now, over 70 percent of officers and Women’s Association’s members have won Excellent Women title.

Many models to study and follow the ethical examples of President Ho Chi Minh are being disseminated to levels of Women’s Association.

Nearly 500,000 women have been called for to join in Women’s Association, accounting for 73 percent, including 40 percent of major members.

Members to participate in the Association’s activities account for 75 percent.

Over 95 percent of grassroots levels of Women’s Association are recognized as strong and excellent.

With the “Pursue gender equality for social development and raise women’s status" theme, the get-together is an occasion for women to meet together, to share with and to be proud of their social and family status, thereby making efforts to study and work.

On this occasion, Dong Nai Women's Association commended its 133 excellent grassroots officers.

Thirteen officers are recognized as the Central Women’s Association’s officers.

Addressing the get-together, Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Le Hong Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the province’s levels of Women’s Association’s efforts and achievements.

Over the past years, levels of Women’s Association have gradually played a substantial role in protecting all classes of women’s legitimate rights and interests, and tackled hot social problems affecting women and especially girl children.

Levels of Women's Association’s movements and activities are growing better and changing for the better.

Phuong emphasized that to successfully complete the Women’s Association’s 2011 tasks, levels of Women’s Association in Dong Nai ought to implement the following contents:

- Further disseminate and update operational contents and methods under the motto: “Aim at grassroots units”.

- Take care of the female staff, and focus on training the team of officers with the aim of making more contributions to the province’s socio-economic development.
