The 80th anniversary of Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 – July 28, 2009)

On the morning of July 24, Dong Nai Labor Union celebrated the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 – July 28, 2009) at the provincial Sports House. The anniversary was attended by Mr. Le Hong Phuong – Head of Dong Nai National Assembly Delegation and Deputy Secretary of the provincial Standing Party Committee, Mr. Huynh Van Toi – Member of the provincial Party Committee and Head of the provincial Commission for Popularization and Education, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien – Member of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Ms. Bui Ngoc Thanh – Member of the provincial Party Committee and Head of the provincial Commission for People Mobilization Work, Ms. Huynh Thi Nga – Member of the provincial Party Committee and Vice chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee, the comrades who are former leaders, Trade Union members of all levels and the representatives from sectors, districts, towns, Bien Hoa city and companies in the province.

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee – Le Hong Phuong – makes a speech at the anniversary

    On behalf of the Executive Committee of the provincial Labor Union, Mr. Huynh Tan Kiet – President of the provincial Labor Union reminisced about the revolutionary traditions that Vietnam Labor Federation as well as Dong Nai Labor Union have preserved and about the achievements that they have obtained over the past 80 years. July 28, 1929 marked a significant event – the birth of General Red Association, which is today’s Vietnam Labor Federation. Under Vietnam Communist Party’s leadership, Vietnam Trade Union has overcome all difficulties and challenges and grown stronger and stronger over the past 80 years. Bien Hoa - Dong Nai proletariat is part of the Vietnamese people and Vietnamese proletariat. Therefore, this force has had enough features of the proletariat and constantly struggled against oppression and exploitation to become an advanced class and an important force in the process of struggling for the nation’s liberation and unification since its birth. Today, to develop this tradition, Bien Hoa - Dong Nai workers need to continue growing in both quantity and quality, which are associated with increasing the number of young laborers and their knowledge and become a leader in the process of industrialization and modernization and contribute to making Vietnam a rich and powerful country.

Mr. Le Hong Phuong – Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Mr. Huynh Tan Kiet – President of the provincial Labor Union awards the certificates of typical Trade Union to its staff and members.

    Addressing the anniversary, Mr. Le Hong Phuong – Deputy Secretary of the provincial Standing Party Committee –said that based on the past 80 years’ achievements, Dong Nai workforce ought to focus on making them a force, who is fully developed and has political skills and spirit, schooling and highly professional skills so that they are capable of approaching and grasping advanced science and technology to meet the demands of a new era. He added that trade unions are required to constantly bring out innovative contents and methods for operations, call for a large number of workers, civil servants and laborers to participate in their activities and represent the legal rights and benefits of workers.

    On this occasion, the provincial Labor Union commended 80 individuals who are typical staffs, Youth Union members and Trade Union members for their remarkable work achievements.
