On the morning of February 26, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dongnai province organized a meeting to undertake missions in 2009. In order to promote its achievements in 2008, Dong Nai department of Culture, Sports and Tourism established goals and undertook missions in 2009, which is to foster the socialization of culture, sports and tourism to raise public mental – culture indulgence, enhance the efficiency of newly-established cultural institutions step by step, promote and make cultural information activities spread to agencies and units to serve public – especially those in remote areas, build and develop public sport movement within the province, invest in developing tourism into one of the important economic sectors based on the provincial economic growth structure and be interested in investing in family activities.
In the meeting, the representatives of the department and other offices and committees under it and district offices and committees have signed an emulation agreement to show a determination to accomplish the missions in 2009.

Delivering a speech at the meeting, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism – Le Tien Tho stressed, “Dong Nai is strong on establishing cultural institutions but needs to focus on the investment in typically cultural values such as revolutionary historic sites and works of art, mobilize the resources of a strongly developed industrial province to promote the sporting achievements, publicize tourism by organizing cultural events to attract tourists, make law known to public, raise awareness, prevent domestic violence and build a happy family life.”
On this occasion, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Cultural Information Office of Trang Bom district and Cultural Information Office of Thong Nhat district were honored to receive the emulation flag from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded certificates of merit to 11 collectives and 3 individuals and commemorative medals – “For the achievements of culture, sports and tourism” – to 127 individuals. The provincial People’s Committee offered the emulation flag to 2 collectives, the title of excellent labor collectives to 11 collectives, certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 37 individuals with the achievements in the movement of emulation and patriotism.
