On March 8th afternoon, Mr. Tran Van Vinh – Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee welcomed Mr. Cees Biji – Mayor of Emmen city and Mr. Karel Loohuis – Mayor of Hoogeven city (Netherlands) and Dutch Businessmen in their working visit to research and improve the business opportunity between the 2 cities and Dong Nai province.
At the reception, Deputy Chairman Tran Van Vinh gave an overview introduction about the provincial socioeconomic status, in which, he highlighted that Dong Nai was one of the leading provinces in economic development with 31 industrial zones, attracting investments from over 40 countries with over 1000 FDI projects, having the total investment capital of 25 billion USD. Currently, Netherlands is investing on 2 projects in Dong Nai province with the total capital of 650 million USD.

Mr. Cees Biji and Mr. Karel Loohuis stated that the Vietnam - Netherlands trading relationship has been going on for over 300 years; the 2 nations have many similarities which strengthened the relationship a lot. Emmen and Hoogeven city have very developed industry, logistics, hi-tech agriculture and is willing to cooperate with Dong Nai province in such fields. The two cities mayors hope Dong Nai province to facilitate the investment and cooperate with each other. They also hope Dong Nai province Leader to visit Netherlands to know better about the investment environment and to come to the agreement on memorandum of cooperation between Dong Nai province and the 2 cities
Deputy Chairman Tran Van Vinh highly appreciated the visiting of the Dutch Leaders and Businessmen to Dong Nai in the integration scheme in Vietnam and believed it would strengthen the collaborative relationship between 2 nations in general and between Dong Nai and 2 cities Emmen and Hoogeven in particular. With the provincial economic characteristics, Dong Nai province really concerns about strengthening the cooperation with Netherlands in industry, logistics and hi-tech agriculture. Deputy Chairman Tran Van Vinh also confirmed to support and facilitate the investments.
Both parties agreed to improve the cooperation in education via the association with universities. At the meeting, Deputy Chairman Tran Van Vinh also gave answers to all the requests and questions from the Dutch businesses.
