According to Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Vietnam – EU Trading Agreement negotiation was completed in August 2015, accordingly, 99% of export tariff to be eliminated in 7 years for the EU and 10 years for Vietnam.
About the other tariff, both parties shall apply Tariff-Rate Quota with each other, reduce tariff or prolong the tariff elimination time. In Vietnam at the moment, export tariff is applied to 474 products, in the future; tariff for 417 products exported to the EU shall be eliminated in 15 years. The EU market is the second largest export market for Vietnam. Textiles, footwear, timber products are the top export products from Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular to the EU market.
