Two Hundred and Seventy Six Kids have their Hearts Examined

Between 7 and 8 of May, 2009, Dong Nai Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Children Aid Fund in collaboration with Trieu An hospital examined hearts for 276 kids from districts, Long Khanh town and Bien Hoa city.

Kid is getting their hearts examined

    By means of examination results, 172 cases accounting for 61.6% were claimed to need operation; 19 ones needed to be cured and observed; and three others were incapable of undergoing operation, making up 1.1% and the rest had normal heart status.

    Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will categorize kids under six needing operation, then they can get health insurance for surgery; the rest can be sorted out for appropriate indications. Initially between May 27 and June 13, the department and Trieu Anh hospital will jointly have 15 kids operated urgently. In estimation, each of these cases costs US$2,700 partially funded by Children Aid Fund and the program entitled For 300 Babies’ Hearts.
