Top ten Dong Nai’s important events in 2007

Dong Nai Journalists Association have selected following events as of most important significance in Dong Nai in 2007 1. Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a solemn ceremony to mark the 32nd  anniversary of Liberation Day (April 30), the May Day and to receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal. At the ceremony, State President Nguyen Minh Triet awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal  to the Party and people of the Dong Nai province.

2. Dong Nai province attracted a record of US$2.63 billion of foreign direct investment (FDI) this year, doubling the 2006 figure and 250 percent over the target set for the whole year. Dong Nai’s export earnings has never before exceeded the US$5 billion mark, up by 28.7 percent over last year, representing about 10 percent of the country’s total export value.

 3. Dong Nai provincial Party Committee issued the Resolution No.06-NQ/TU on compensation, support and resettlement when land is recovered by the State.  

4. Donataba Agricultural and Industrial Complex, using a closed process of production and modern technology, is established to supply safe and clean products to local consumers and foreign markets.

 5. Many large projects worth thousand of billion of dong in capital have been started to construct in Dong Nai. They included Nhon Trach power complex, Vinashin shipbuilding factory and Nhon Trach water supply plant, etc.

6. Dong Nai’s professional writers such as Huynh Van Nghe, Ly Van Sam, Hoang Van Bon were awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts.

7. Bien Hoa city deployed to give names to streets and roads across the city.

8. Tam Phuoc Industrial Park, an affiliate of Tin Nghia one-member limited liability company, has sold more than 8.2 million shares in its initial public offering. Besides, Tin Nghia signed a consultative contract with BNP Paribas (France) and Gia Quyen Securities Company for issuing enterprise bonds worth VND4,000 billion.

9. Vinacafe Bien Hoa displayed a giant coffee cup measuring 2.34 metres in diameter and 1.53 m high during the Viet Nam Coffee Culture Week 2007 at Tao Dan Park in Ho Chi Minh City. Vinacafe is preparing to get its cup an entry in the Guinness book of world records. The current record stands under the name of Panama’s Duran Company for a cup it made in 1994. This is an effective way to popularize brand name to customers.

10. Dong Nai’s U19 football team won the national U19 football championship in 2007
