Conference on attracting green investment to the Southeast region

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of October 12, at the Golden Lotus Convention Center (Bien Hoa City), Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper organized a seminar to attract green investment for the Southeast region (SE region).

Attending and chairing the conference were Editor-in-Chief To Dinh Tuan of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang and former Director of the Central Institute For Economic Management Dr. Nguyen Dinh Cung and leaders of departments and offices of 6 Eastern provinces and various experts, businesses, and universities in the Southeast region.

At the conference, many opinions related to issues of opportunities and benefits in green growth, attraction policies, solutions for green growth as well as means to remove bottlenecks in attracting green investment in the Southeast region ...are voiced by experts, state management agencies, and businesses.

Sharing about the direction to attract and expand green development in Dong Nai province, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said that the province was interested in selectively attracting the best investors, while controlling and prioritizing environmental friendly projects, and clean technology. Although there are still many challenges in applying and encouraging green growth and green investment, Dong Nai province still prioritizes attracting green investment. Currently, the province is implementing the eco-industrial zone model. Although there are still many issues, the Vice Chairwoman hopes that, after its completion, the eco-industrial zone will play an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Speaking at the conference, Editor-in-Chief To Dinh Tuan of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper said that although attracting green investment in the Southeast region still faced many challenges, it must be done no matter what. One of the major contributing factors in attracting green investment is the propagation of policies, benefits, and results of green investment and green development. The newspaper hopes to have the cooperation of other press agencies, along with the support of businesses, scientists, experts... to contribute to the green investment propagation campaign in the Southeast region. ​
