The United States is the largest export market of Dong Nai Province

On December 2, Mr. Robert Greenan, Acting Consul General of the United States to Ho Chi Minh City visited and worked with Dong Nai to accelerate the progress of a number of projects and connect to expand investment in the province.

At the reception, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung said that Dong Nai belongs to the Southern Key Economic Zone, about 30km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The province covers an area of more than 5.9 thousand square kilometers, accounting for about 1.9% of the total area of the country and has a population of more than 3 million people. In recent years, the province's economic growth rate has always reached a high and stable level. So far, Dong Nai has attracted foreign investment in 1,541 projects with a total registered capital of nearly US$32.5 billion. In which, US businesses invest in about 24 projects with a total capital of nearly US$300 million. Regarding trade, for many years, the United States has been Dong Nai's largest export market, accounting for nearly 30% of total export turnover. At the same time, the United States is also a large import market of Dong Nai.

However, according to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the US investment in Dong Nai is still limited, so the province asks for the assistance of the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City to serve as a bridge for US businesses to expand their investment in the province in fields of industry, trade, services, logistics, etc.

According to Mr. Robert Greenan, Acting Consul General of the United States to Ho Chi Minh City, in the coming time, he will introduce the advantages of the province to US businesses so that they have more information about Dong Nai Province then they may continue to expand their investments in the province. In addition, the Consul General also asked the province to support the site clearance quickly to deal with dioxin pollution in the surrounding areas of Bien Hoa Airport.
