From the beginning of October, 2021, enterprises in Industrial Zones (IZs) in the province are gradually recovering and stabilizing production and business. Although orders are not lacking, businesses still face difficulties, so they have to make efforts in production management.
Dong Tien Joint
Stock Company (Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City) is restoring production
and export
According to the Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authority, enterprises located in the Industrial Zones have recovered about 99% of their production, but due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, many factories still have to maintain the “3-on-the-spot” option, and daily commuting to help stabilize production for customers’ orders.
Quick production recovery
After about 2 months, 1,685/1,705 projects have returned to production and the number of employees returning to work has also reached more than 88%. This is a great effort of enterprises to keep and receive more orders in the domestic and export markets in order to increase revenue to compensate for 4 months of shrinking production due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Businesses restore production, workers get jobs, the Government and provinces reduce the burden in taking care of workers' lives.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Doan, General Director of Daikan Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City) said: “After the employees were vaccinated and the People's Committee allowed the implementation of the plan to commute every day to the company. However, workers leaving and returning every day cannot guarantee the prevention and control of epidemics, so there are some cases of infection. Therefore, the company has re-implemented the “3-on-the-spot” option to ensure health and uninterrupted production."
However, many businesses are still worried because the epidemic is continuing to make the price of raw materials to be higher, and the freight industry continues to fluctuate in an upward direction. The shipping cost of many items has been already higher than the value of the product, and if the global Covid-19 pandemic is not controlled, businesses still face many risks that can happen at any time.
Mr. Le Xuan Tan, Sales Manager of Hanh Phuc Wood Company Limited (Tam Phuoc Industrial Zone, Bien Hoa City) shared: “The company has a lot of orders from foreign partners, but it is still insecure and do not appreciate too much because of worrying about not having enough workers to work, recruiting new workers is currently very difficult. Although the company strictly applies the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, the risk is always everywhere, if many F0 cases occur, it will be difficult for the company to maintain production."
Orders are still available
Currently, enterprises are recalculating production plans for short-term and long-term according to the trend of streamlining, applying science and technology to reduce risks in production and business.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ha, Director of Operations Department of Kureha Vietnam Co., Ltd (Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City) said: “Kureha specializes in the production of export sausages, so despite of the disease outbreak the sausage orders are still quite a lot, but we always worry about the labor shortage. The company is recalculating to optimize production stages, applying more modern machinery and equipment to increase productivity so that when there are fluctuations, it still maintains capacity to meet the customers’ orders.
According to Mr. Le Van Danh, Deputy Director in charge of the Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authority, businesses have recovered quickly because of many orders, workers are vaccinated against Covid-19 so the occurrence of F0 cases is very limited and quickly recovers after sickness. In addition, the province has many support policies for workers, quickly resolving administrative procedures so that businesses can soon stabilize their operations. However, enterprises are still facing some difficulties such as lack of labor, processing of F0 and F1 cases is still slow. Dong Nai has not yet allowed asymptomatic, low-risk F1 cases to work like Ho Chi Minh City, so the risk of labor shortage is very high.
