According to the plan of the Provincial Economic Development Steering Committee, considering the need to improve the capacity of local departments, agencies, sectors and businesses, the Economic Development Steering Committee coordinates with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Trade Facilitation Program (TFP) to hold a training workshop on compliance with origin and transshipment regulations for goods exported to the US market in December.
Many products related to
exported wood have been warned that they are at risk of being investigated and
applied trade remedies.
Accordingly, the seminar will create conditions and opportunities for speakers from the US customs, the General Department of Customs and representatives of departments, sectors and local businesses to exchange and clarify necessary information to well serve the work of stakeholders and improve compliance in the enforcement and application of regulations on origin and transshipment for goods exported to the US market. The workshop is expected to hold on both offline and online.
At the end of October 2021, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam – TRAV, under Ministry of Industry and Trade updated the list of items at risk of origin fraud and illegal transshipment, including: plywood from raw materials solid wood, wooden cabinet, sofa with wooden frame, artificial stone, ceramic tile, electric bike, copper pipe, gas tank, crate pins, continuous shaped wood slats and edges, solar panels. These products are mainly exported to the US market.
