Sustainable forestry development in integration

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 14744/KH – UBND on "Strategy for forestry development in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2050" in Dong Nai Province.

Objectives of building the forestry sector into an economic and technical branch; establish, protect, develop and use sustainably forests and land areas planned for forestry; ensure broad and equal participation of all economic sectors in forestry activities. Thereby, maximizing social resources; applying advanced and modern science and technology, promoting the potential, role and effects of forests for forestry to make an increasingly important contribution to economic and social development, protection of the ecological environment, and water security, disaster mitigation, proactive and effective response to climate change, conservation of natural resources and biodiversity. In addition, it also has the goal of providing a variety of forest environmental services, creating jobs and income for people, and successfully implementing the national goal of sustainable development.

Specifically, the growth rate of forestry production value is from 7.9 to 9% per year; the production value of wooden furniture and forest products will reach US$2 billion by 2025, US$3 billion by 2030. By 2025, the area of ​​production forests will reach nearly 2,500 hectares, the restoration of protective forests will reach nearly 4,000 hectares, improve the quality of natural forests to over 8,66 thousand hectares and continue to increase rapidly in forest area until 2030. The plan also sets out tasks and solutions to implement the above plan such as: mechanisms and policies to encourage forestry development; solutions to mobilize investment resources; agricultural infrastructure construction; management and training of human resources; strengthen international cooperation and integration. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is assigned to be the unit in charge of implementing the above plan.
