Making eco agriculture, in which organic production is a long-term and expensive investment story, makes many farmers reluctant to participate.

In recent years, many farmers of Dong Nai province have applied organic biotechnology to produce clean agriculture in an organic way, making use of domestic waste and animal wastes to make non-toxic and low-cost fertilizers and pesticides.

Low cost farming

Before the actual requirements of the domestic market and export of safe agricultural products, many safe production models under VietGAP and GlobalGAP processes have been implemented in Dong Nai province. However, these models are difficult to replicate in practice because of high investment costs. Farmers are increasingly interested in the application of methods of composting organic fertilizers themselves as well as preventing pests by natural methods, such as: planting clean rice according to the rice-field model; growing flowers and grass in the garden, raising weaver ants, making biological plant protection drugs to control insects and diseases by natural and cheap methods.

Mr. Doan Ngoc Thanh, (Xuan Thien commune, Thong Nhat District) is one of the pioneers in applying clean production processes by using biological products for plants care. At the same time, he also succeeded in the method of eliminating insects, lamp pests, hanging palettes instead of pesticides with chemicals to treat pests, while reducing costs and protecting health. human. His 3-hectare grapefruit garden has high quality and safety, so it is always an address chosen by both retail customers and traders. Accordingly, his clean, low-cost production model was learned by many people in the region.

Also a pioneer in applying bio-technology to compost organic fertilizer himself and using probiotics to create biological products to kill insects, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (Hieu Liem commune, Vinh Cuu district) said the organic production by farmers actively make fertilizers, plant protection drugs, plants grow well, give better quality of fruits; Especially, investment cost is much lower than using chemical fertilizers.

Along the direction of clean agriculture production, Mr. Doan Van Le, a farmer in Tay Hoa commune (Trang Bom district) has a more special way when choosing the weaver ant model in the garden to protect crops instead of Chemical pesticides. Pests, bugs, harmful insects have become the food of weaver ants, so his garden hardly uses pesticides. Mr. Le shared: “I also composted organic fertilizer to fertilize crops to reduce investment costs, and at the same time help improve the cultivated land gradually faded because the fertilizer and chemical fertilizers become more fertile. Agricultural products meet the export market requirement in the most difficult markets”.

Transparent origin of clean agricultural products

At present, organic production is no longer a sporadic story of a few farmers, but it has become a development trend promoted by many localities.

With the goal of choosing clean agriculture and organic production as a key breakthrough in agricultural production, since more than 1 year ago, Vinh Cuu province has implemented the "Transparent Project of Vinh Cuu Organic Agricultural Products ". The important content in this project is to transfer to farmers the application of biotechnology (using probiotics) to take advantage of waste from domestic waste, organic agricultural waste, animal wastes, etc. to produce organic fertilizer as well as make bio-medicines in prevention and elimination of pests on plants. After more than 1 year of implementation, the model of organic agriculture has been constantly replicated locally from citrus production to vegetables, orchids in an organic direction ...

Participating in the "Transparent Project of Vinh Cuu Organic Agricultural Products" from the early days, Mr. Hoang Son Cong, Director of Vietnam Retail Technology Transfer and Start-up Center, was the one who transferred assign farmers technology to apply biotechnology for clean agriculture. “We have studied more than 30 different groups of solutions with the goal of helping farmers to own their land, environment and their agricultural products. In our opinion, these scientific researches are natural, this technology transfer must meet the requirements of being easy to do, low cost production and when the transfer is completed, farmers are not dependent on the transferring unit.”- Mr. Cong shared.
