Vinh Cuu district is currently under process of registering with the Fisheries Sub-Department to build an Aquaculture Zone (Turtle) in VietGAP standards for for 32 households with 154 tanks, with the output of 56,000 heads/year in Hamlet 4, Ma Da Commune.
Since the start of the year until now, in order to build and maintain VietGAP-standard aquaculture areas in Vinh Cuu District, The Division of Agriculture and Rural Development of the district has checked and reviewed the organization of activities of cooperative groups on bookkeeping and implementation of environmental protection measures in farming households that belong to cooperative group members in Ma Da, Thien Tan communes and Vinh An Town. The results showed that farmers were not fulfilled the requirements of VietGAP standards.
Up to now, the district's total aquaculture area is more than 947 hectares with the production value of agriculture - forestry - fisheries reached VND 1,666 billion in 2019. The area of concentrated aquaculture pond is mainly in Vinh Tan (340ha), Tan An (140ha), Thien Tan (60ha) and Vinh An Town (146ha), and over 32 hectares of breeding rafts on Tri An Lake, with about 134 rafts, concentrated in Ma Da Commune and Vinh An Town, etc.
