According to Dong Nai Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in the first 6 months of 2020, the province has created new jobs for more than 30,000 people, reached over 38% of the plan, down 20% over the same period in 2019. In particular, businesses employed more than 21.3 thousand employees; the program of lending to poor households has created jobs for more than 1.3 thousand people; the rest are vocational training programs for rural workers, loans for job creation, sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad and other programs.
Statistics of the authorities have shown that about 10.2 thousand workers of 79 enterprises in Dong Nai province lost their jobs. Of the 196 businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, 3 were dissolved and 61 had to temporarily suspend production for a while. The number of newly established enterprises decreased by 5% compared to the same period; many enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, which have to reduce their production or suspend operations.
The authorities have issued decisions on unemployment benefits for nearly 26,000 people, counseling and job placement for more than 33 thousand people and 750 people are supported vocational training.
In addition, the authorities have settled 16 collective labor disputes leading to strikes in 16 enterprises with the participation of more than 3.8 thousand workers.
