On the morning of November 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EUROCHAM) organized the Conference "Meet Europe 2021: EU-Vietnam Partnership Post-COVID-19 and 2021 EUROCHAM Whitebook Launch”.

The conference was organized in the form of face-to-face combined with online co-chaired by Mr. To Anh Dung - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency Giorgio Aliberti - Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam.
The participants were representatives of the Government, ministries, branches, localities, Ambassadors of EU member countries, EUROCHAM's leadership and European businesses and investors operating in Vietnam. At Dong Nai Station, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang and leaders of a number of departments and branches attended.
Speaking at the conference, EUROCHAM Chairman Alain Cany said that European countries and Vietnam need to make the most of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) effective from 2020. Despite the context of pandemic, Vietnam's exports to the European market increased 11% in the first 12 months. His Excellency Alain Cany also believes that Vietnam-EU trade will recover quickly after the pandemic and be more prosperous.
“Meet Europe 2021” is an event connecting businesses with the Government of Vietnam, the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EUROCHAM Vietnam). The conference is an opportunity for the two sides to connect and cooperate effectively and practically. The delegates also discussed issues of interest to the two sides through two themes: "Policy dialogue" to improve the quality and responsibility for the investment, business, and community health care environment. Recommendations on trade, services, sustainable development and economic recovery; theme "EU-Vietnam Partnership Post-COVID".

In Dong Nai, the EU is an investor, trading partner and also a traditional export surplus market of the province. Specifically, in terms of investment, by November 2021, in Dong Nai there have been 70 projects from enterprises from EU countries, with a total registered capital of US$2.844 billion, ranked the 5th highest position in the group of countries and territories making investment in Vietnam. In terms of trade, the EU is the province's second largest export partner after the US market. The import-export trade balance between Dong Nai and European countries is in favor of trade surplus, with trade surplus in the first 10 months of 2021 reaching US$1,471 million.
At the conference, EUROCHAM's 13th Annual Whitebook Launch Ceremony was held and the Signing Ceremony of a new Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and EUROCHAM was celebrated. It is known that the EUROCHAM 2021 White Book with specific recommendations helps the Government and ministries and sectors to consult and research in building a safe adaptation roadmap to the COVID-19 pandemic, completing the legal process, and improving business investment environment with the motto "harmonious benefits, shared difficulties" for the benefit of the business communities of both sides, creating favorable conditions for EUROCHAM to invest in the fields that Vietnam is attracting investment and projects serving social security, promoting research, development and creativity.
