In the past time, while some enterprises in Dong Nai have faced difficulties in production due to the lack of orders and have to reduce labor and working hours, there are still enterprises that are trying to overcome difficulties and ensure jobs, income for employees.
Many businesses in the province despite difficulties and lack of orders still maintain jobs for workers
Make sure employees have income
In previous years, at this time, Yuen Foong Yu Paper Co., Ltd (Long Thanh district) was always hurry and busy producing carton packaging for year-end gift orders. This year, because long-term partners had to reduce their orders to reduce production, the production of packaging for brands at the company was also reduced gradually. Currently, production capacity has decreased by 30-40% compared to every year. Despite the difficulties, businesses still make efforts to find orders, ensure 2 shifts and income for more than 300 employees.
Mr. Tran Xuan Quyet, a worker at the company, said that although the company's production is facing difficulties, during the National Day holiday September 2, the Board of Directors and the Company Union still organized for all workers to go on sightseeing in Vung Tau city, as well as pay attention to employees' welfare and life. This is a very practical and meaningful action to encourage workers to accompany enterprises to overcome difficulties. "We hope that from now until the end of the year, the company's orders will be better, ensuring income for employees" - Mr. Quyet shared.
Similarly, at Dong Nai Viet Vinh Shoes Co., Ltd (Trang Bom district), although the enterprise has just got stable orders, it has maintained regular jobs for employees over the past time. Many employees working at the company said that in the situation of many businesses in the district having to give workers alternate leave due to no production goods, the company still accompanies and worries about the workers' lives. Currently, enterprises have signed orders again and the production situation has started to get better.
Mr. Tran Huu Dat, Chairman of the company's Union, said that in July, enterprise planned for employees to take annual leave due to low orders. However, since August, the company has started taking orders and ensuring regular jobs for employees. In the last months of the year, employees often want to have a regular job to add bonuses, diligence money and benefits to cover life. Therefore, if jobs are reduced at this time, it will be very difficult for employees. Understanding the aspirations of the employees, the Union and the company had a meeting to find the solution to take care of jobs for employees, because this is an important resource accompanying the development of enterprises over the past time.
Efforts to retain employees
In fact, not all businesses can guarantee jobs and income for employees at this time like the two above enterprises. Because now, due to the post-Covid-19 situation as well as the Russia-Ukraine war, many enterprises lack raw materials for production, even without production, forced to cut labor. Facing that situation, Unions at all levels negotiated with businesses to find a suitable solution, by all means to hold back and retain employees. Because when the difficulties pass, enterprises restore production, it is very difficult to recruit workers.
Vice Chairman of the Trang Bom District Confederation of Labor Le Duc Thuy said that in the district, the garment and leather shoe industries have begun to have orders again and the operation situation is better. However, the wood industry is still facing difficulties, a number of enterprises are being closed and their factories are reduced. Therefore, more than 10,000 workers in this industry are worried about their jobs. The district Labor Confederation has directed the grassroots trade unions to accompany workers to overcome this difficult period together with enterprises. If from now until the end of the year, the order is still reduced, then choose the option for employees to take rotational leave, annual leave, rather than cut labor, affecting the interests of employees.
Chairman of the Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Park Nguyen Thi Tuyet said that many garment, wood and electronic manufacturing enterprises in the industrial zone are facing difficulties because there are no production orders. Some enterprises have organized for employees to work 4 days/week or take annual leave or unpaid leave. The Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Park has oriented the affiliated grassroots trade union to find ways to retain employees. First, arrange for employees to take annual leave or advance annual leave of the following year, or provide allowances to retain employees, especially long-term employees and skilled workers.
To ensure jobs as well as retain workers, many grassroots trade union officials have negotiated with businesses to find solutions to rearrange production. According to Trade Union officials, it is forecasted that orders from many businesses, especially those with a large number of workers, will face difficulties by the end of 2022, thus affecting the income and life of workers. Therefore, the efforts and concern of enterprises for employees at this time is very important. This will be a motivation for employees to feel secure to stick together and overcome difficulties with enterprises.
