The 63th Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Calling for Patriotic Emulation: 141 Collectives and Individuals Awarded the Party and the Government’s Noble Prizes

On the morning of June 8, the 63th Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Calling for Patriotic Emulation (June 11, 1948 – June 11, 2011) was held at Dong Nai Convention and Events Center and the Party and the Government’s noble prizes were awarded to collectives and individuals.

The anniversary was attended by Member of the Central Party and Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, Chairwoman of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Council Huynh Chi Thang, Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Huynh Thi Nga, and Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh.

Delivering a speech at the anniversary, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc stressed that up to now President Ho Chi Minh’s calling for patriotic emulation 63 years ago and patriotic emulation ideology has shown great values and profound and practical meaningfulness to us.

“Emulation movements must be carried out practically, continuously, persistently, passionately, deeply meaningfully, and widespread in all aspects and among all classes of people”.

“Emulation movements can not be done carelessly for achievements but must gob deeply into life, and reflect every collective and every individual’s potentials, and strengths.

In response to President Ho Chi Minh’s call, the Party, the authorities and the people of Dong Nai have strived to obtain many a important achievement in the process of reform, socio-economic development, and national defence and security preservation.

Dong Nai’s emulation movements are associated with the “Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example” campaign and with performing the tasks given by levels of authorities, departments, agencies and units.

Thanks to the province’s emulation movements, local authorities, units, collectives, and individuals have characterized movements as specific activities that are consistent with their own characteristics, conditions, and political tasks to bring out practical results.

Until now, many activities have become a leading flag in such emulation movements as:

“Innovative promotion, technological improvement, effective production and business” movements among manufacturing businesses.

“Skillful and creative worker, one-door policy administrative reform” movements among administrative civil servants.

“Good teacher - good student, build a friendly school - active student” movements among Education and Training.

“For national security, do a good job every day for the people" movements among Armed Forces.

“All people unite to build a cultural life, do physical exercises to as President Ho Chi Minh’s example” movements in many parts of the province.

Above emulation movements have made significant contributions to successfully implementing the 8th Dong Nai Party Congress’s resolutions.

The anniversary

From these movements, collectives and individuals have won achievements, and made practical contributions to the province’s development.

At the anniversary, 141 collectives and individuals were awarded the Party and the government’s prizes.

For example, a collective was awarded the First Class Labor Medal, two collectives and one individual the Second Class Labor Medals, 4 collectives and 22 individuals the Third Class Labor Medals, and 29 collectives and 82 individuals the Prime Minister’s Certificates of Merit.

Addressing the anniversary, Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai extended his congratulations and commended units and individuals for their past achievements.

“Collectives and individuals deserve rewards today. To obtain these noble prizes, and you all have had to go over a non-stop and untiring process of efforts, and overcome a lot of difficulties and challenges”, said he.

“This is the province’s honor”, continued he.

Also, he noted that collectives and individuals with rewards today ought to continue to attempt, train themselves, and promote patriotic emulation movements to make movements more and more practical and effective.

In order to do this, levels of authorities and sectors are required to focus on giving directions, and keeping performing patriotic emulation movements effectively to turn these movements into a force that helps fulfill socio-economic, and national defense and security targets; promote patriotism; associate the revolutionary spirit with the “Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example” campaign; strengthen people's faith in the Party, and the government; continue to disseminate typical examples; combine emulation movements with administrative reform; increase leaders’ responsibilities; and continue to strengthen the government machinery that is in charge of emulation and rewarding activities.
