FDI capital disbursement reaches 8.1 billion USD for 9 months

It is estimated that the projects of Foreign Dicect Investment (FDI) disbursement reached 8.1 billion USD for the last 9 months, approximately equal to that in 2011.

Department of Foreign Investment (Ministry of Planning & Investment) has just submitted the preliminary report on the situation of foreign direct investment for the first 9 months of 2012. 

According to this report, for the past nine months, it estimated that these projects FDI disbursement reached 8,1 billion USD, approximately equal to that in 2011. However, the registered FDI capital was just 9.53 billion USD, reducing by 27.9% compared to that in 2011. 

As for investment capital proportion, a processing and manufacturing industry is the field that attracted most FDI capital with 6.24 billion USD, accounting for 65.5% of the total amount. The next on the list is real estate that includes 8 new projects and 3 projects of capital increases, attracting 1.8 billion USD, accounting for 19%, and followed by retails and repairing industry, which attracted more than 400 million USD… 

In terms of local levels, Binh Duong became the province that attract the largest FDI capital of 2.16 billion USD with 74 new projects and 53 extra ones, accounting for 22.7% of the total amount. Hai Phong is the second province to attract most FDI with $ 1.1 billion. Dong Nai ranked next on the list to attract more than 991 million dollars. 

Among 775 newly approved projects for the first nine months of the year, there is only one of real estate attracted over $ 1 billion of investment capital; 64 projects (accounting for 8.5% of the total number) attracted more than $ 10 million of capital with the total investment of 5.29 billion USD. 

The most remarkable projects in attracting FDI for the first nine months of year were: Telecom Joint Stock Company Vietnam-Russia; Joint Venture of Alltech Telecom Ltd (Altech) and the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Added Value Services and Solution Ltd.  The projects were invested by Cyprus investors with the total amount of 375 million USD. 

Another highlighted point is that the registered capital of the Japanese firms accounted for 50% of the total FDI capital for the first nine months of years, with 203 new projects and 82 extra ones, the total capital reached 4.68 billion USD.
