The Congress was attended by Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Chairperson of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri, Vice Chairperson of Vietnam Red Cross Duong Hong Hoa, representatives for Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Binh Thuan Red Crosses, and more than 200 representatives for more than 3,000 Red Cross members across the province.

The newly-elected Executive Committee at the Congress

The report of the Executive Committee at Dong Nai Red Cross says that thanks to Dong Nai Party Committee and People's Committee’s care and the efforts of officers and members of levels of Red Cross, the Standing Committees at levels of Red Cross in the province has implemented the Congress’s resolutions and Dong Nai Party Committee, Dong Nai People’s Committee, and Vietnam Red Cross promptly and effectively.

In particular, all resources worth VND285.54 billion between 2003 and 2011 have been mobilized, approximately VND36.84 per year. 3.3 millions of needy individuals got assistance.

In 2003-2008 period, health care and humanitarian aid value hit over VND145 billion, a 3.38 fold compared with the 4th Congress’s resolution.

The Congress elected 30 comrades into the 5th term Executive Committee. Mrs. Vuong Thi Quyen was elected as the Chairperson.

The Congress also elected a delegation including six members to attend the Congress at all levels.

Addressing the Congress, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee Le Hong Phuong commended Dong Nai Red Cross for its recent efforts in humanitarian activities in the province

In order to further promote obtained achievements, deal with existing problems and weaknesses, and strive to fulfill the 5th Red Cross Congress’s resolutions, Fatherland Front Committee, organizations, unions, and levels of Red Cross are required to further promote propaganda programs, to raise political and social ogranizations and people from all walks of life’s awareness of national humanitarian tradition; levels of Red Cross are required to admit more members, to continue building a strong Red Cross and update its contents and methods, to cooperate with social organizations in enhancing humanitarian and charity activities and relief activities in natural disaster-hit, ethnic minority, and far-flung areas to help residents here stabilize their lives.

Dong Nai provincial leadership at the Congress

On behalf of the Executive Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee Le Hong Phuong awarded the commendation flag – “Unite and be dynamic to build up a strong association”.

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of Vietnam Central Red Cross gave awards to 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in humanitarian activities over the past years.

Also, Dong Nai People’s Committee awarded to the title of emulation fighter to Mrs. Vuong Thi Quyen, Chairperson of Vietnam Red Cross.
