Dong Nai Raises 11 Transport-Related Issues

On the morning of August 13, Ministry of Transport’s delegation led by Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang had a working session with Dong Nai People’s Committee to discuss issues concerning transport development in the province.

Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai received and had a working session with the delegation.

The working session between Ministry of Transport and Dong Nai People’s Committee

In recent times, many transport projects have been implemented in Dong Nai, but the construction progress has slowdown, said provincial leaders.

During the working session, Dong Nai People’s Committee raised 11 issues as follows:

- Upgrade Highway 20 immediately to ensure that bauxite is transported as planned.

- Make central government loans to the building of inter-port road links in Nhon Trach.

- Invest in the building of roads and bridges from district 9 in Ho Chi Minh City to Nhon Trach by using central government loans under the method of BOT.

- Conduct research into the feasibility of the Highway 51 drainage system.

- Make quicker loans to the new Dong Nai bridge project and continue site clearance work.

- Provide Dong Nai with approximately VND3.5 trillion (or US$), which is spent on the building of two resettlement areas in the service of Long Thanh International Airport project.

- Give assistance to and facilitate the building of road links connecting Road 25B to Ho Chi Minh-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway.

- Accelerate the implementation progress of the project to build roads that go along the Ghenh bridge

- Upgrade parts of insecure roads on National Highway 1.

- Give local authorities the funds that come from traffic violation fines with the aim of dealing with accident spot issues on all roads.

- Hold training courses for road safety verification experts.

On behalf of the delegation, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang highly appreciated Dong Nai’s efforts in making plans and developing transport infrastructure.

In terms of the issues raised by the provincial leaders, Mr. Thang said he would take a look at these issues and put forward appropriate solutions.
