25th Anniversary of Foundation Day of Dong Nai Religion Committee

The anniversary was attended by Head of Commission for People Mobilization Affairs at Dong Nai Party Committee Bui Ngoc Thanh, Chairperson of Dong Nai
Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri, heads of Religion Committees from southeast provinces, delegates who were the previous heads of Religion Committees, and officers and civil servants in charge of religious affairs in the province.

At the anniversary, participants reminisced about Dong Nai Religion’s traditions.

Religious affairs have been one of the major tasks in Dong Nai since the National Reunification Day.

On August 30, 1986, Dong Nai People's Committee made a decision on the establishment of Dong Nai Religion Committee, of Religion Committees at districts, and of Bien Hoa Municipal Religion Committee, marking the birth of the state religion administration in the province.

Since its inception, thanks to the Party and the government’s more and more updated and open reform policies and to religious affairs staff’s efforts, sensitivity, creativity and flexibility towards dealing with religion-related issues, Dong Nai’s religious activities always comply with legal regulations.

Religious ceremonies held at shrines always go according to agenda. Religious affairs are associated with the implementation of the Party and government’s guidelines and policies, contributing to the building of a more and more powerful unity bloc.

Addressing the anniversary, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri highly appreciated the achievements that Dong Nai Religion has obtained.

He also acknowledged the efforts and contributions of the staff in charge of the state religion administration.

In the forthcoming time, authorities, unions, and all staff in charge of the state religion administration ought to unite and join hands in developing achievements and in carrying out religion-related tasks in a new context, stressed Tri.

Accordingly, it is necessary to promote propaganda activities, to raise the political system and the community’s awareness of religious affairs; to make the Party and the government’s guidelines, policies, and laws known to officers, Party members, people, dignitaries, and religious followers; to call for dignitaries, priests, and religious followers to join hands in building and developing the country; to strengthen and  complete the staff in charge of religious affairs.

On this occasion, Ministry of Internal Affairs awarded a commemorative medal to eighty individuals. Dong Nai People’s Committee awarded a “For the State Religion Administration” commendation flag to  Dong Nai Religion Committee.

In addition, Dong Nai People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 25 collectives and 41 individuals with achievements in the state religion administration.
