The second investment promotion workshop in Washington DC succeeds beyond delegation’s expectation.

George Town University was chosen as place to organize the workshop because of its fame and close relationship with many universities in Vietnam. Besides, there are many Vietnamese students and professors who study and work here.

Participating at the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Tam Chien, Vietnamese Ambassador to US, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and over 40 American investors.

Addressing at the opening ceremony, the Ambassador warmly welcomed American investors. He appraised Dong Nai for its active and professional working style in promoting investments of US investors. He believed that this was a suitable to the development of bilateral relationship between US and Vietnam.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, General Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Council and head of delegation, confirmed the potential and advantages of Dong Nai province and sent a message to US investors that Dogn Nai was a promising and safe place where investors would be successful businessmen. His confirmation was more persuasive with the presences of representatives from Cargill, OPIC, Gannon Corporation and Exim Bank who has experienced their successful businesses in Dong Nai province.

At the workshop, US investors in Washington DC had asked questions on the policy and procedure for investing in Vietnam, list of fields and locations to be encouraged and projects which Dong Nai were calling for investments. All these queries were clearly answered by relevant departments and American corporations who are doing their business in Dong Nai and Vietnam. At the end of workshop, many investors pledged to visit Dong Nai so as to find out more information on projects which Dong Nai calls for investments such as projects to develop infrastructure, traffic, water and power supply, post and telecommunication. Especially, they were much interested in the project of Long Thanh International Airport, waste treatment system in Bien Hoa City and Nhon Trach residential area.
