South Korean Ambassador visits Dong Nai

Yesterday afternoon of August 2, South Korean diplomats as led by new Ambassador Kim Eui-ki paid a courtesy call on the Provincial Government.

At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Peoples’ Committee Dang Thi Kim Nguyen spoke of the current situation on economic and social development and FDI attraction in Dong Nai. She unveiled that Korean investors sat at the top list of foreign investors in Dong Nai from 28 countries and territories worldwide. In addition, South Korean entrepreneurs have been eager to expand their presence in some sectors such as athletic footwear, textile and garments. This absorbed a lot of labors. Accordingly, the number of employees requesting accommodation increased significantly. Nguyen proposed that Ambassador Kim Eui-ki should encourage his investors to take initiative in providing accommodation for their employees in order to meet housing needs of labor force. On South Korean Ambassador’s visit to Dong Nai, she also expressed a desire to continue receiving financial assistance from South Korean Government for expanding Thien Tan Waterworks in the second stage in order to supply water to areas along National Highway 51, crossing Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts.

Although Mr. Kim Eui-ki just served as new Ambassador in Vietnam for nearly 2 months, he knew that the provincial government created favorable conditions and a healthy business environment for foreign investors including Korean entrepreneurs. He also promised to honor all requests from local government.
