The Long Thanh International Airport project covers an area of 5,000 hectares. To start this project, 5,000 households’ land will be expropriated. Particularly, 3,000 households will have to relocate to resettlement areas, which are in Loc An and Binh Son communes. The resettlement area is as large as 280 hectares and needs an investment capital worth more than VND1 trillion. The project management board has encountered difficulties in staff recruitment. Vice chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee asked departments and sectors to cooperate with and assist Long Thanh district in seeking for well-trained staff and sending them to the management board.
