2009 Lunar New Year celebrated safely and economically

On Jan. 30 morning (or the fifth day of the first lunar month), at the headquarter of the provincial People’s Committee, representatives of the provincial standing Party Committee, People’s Council, Fatherland Front Committee, People’s Committee had a meeting to listen to a report on service situation of departments, committees, and sectors for 2009 lunar new year.

According the report of departments, committees, and sectors, 2009 lunar new year was celebrated safely and economically. Particularly, economic situation has got a lot of changes, but by flexible policies, prices during and after Tet this year has been fairly stable. Arts and cultural activities on this occasion have taken place solemnly across the province.

Especially, at 72 Cultural And Sports Center of communes, wards, and towns, cultural and sports activities have been held to meet cultural enjoyment and creation demand of people on Tet. About caring for the poor, the province has taken from its budget to subsidize 73,090 difficult people with over US$1 million in total. Besides, it presented 47 gifts to poor students, families in difficult situation along with meritorious people on Tet holiday. Moreover, food safety and hygiene and medical examination and treatment activities have been ensured; traffic order and safety has been maintained, etc.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh appraised efforts made jointly by levels and sectors to bring people a comfortable, safe, and economical Tet and most importantly, to implement well the policy that every household can enjoy Tet. Besides, he requested offices, committees and sectors to continue to maintain achievements in activities earlier this year.
