The 9th Dong Nai Party Congress voted for its resolution, which is aimed at making Dong Nai a basically industrial and modern province in 2015.

Dong Nai sets out its major 2010-2015 targets: GDP growth from 13 to 14 percent per year, GDP per capita from US$2,900 to US$3,000 at least in 2015, export turnover growth from 15 to 17 percent per year, a total of investment capital worth VND260 to VND270 trillion for social development in 2010-2015 period, accounting for an annual GDP average of 40 to 43 percent and annual budget revenue from 23 to 25 percent against GDP.

In a spirit of being objective and honest and facing up to reality, the Congress precisely estimated its achieved results, identifying its existing weaknesses, finding out where advantages and disadvantages come from, drawing valuable leadership lessons and providing guidelines on the implementation of the resolutions by the 8th Dong Nai Party Congress in the last five years, thereby identifying directions, targets, tasks and solutions in the coming five-year development period, stated in his conclusive speech Member of the Central Party and the 9th term Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh.

Thanh said the Congress made a decision on general objectives the next term as follows:

+ To keep making changes to leadership styles and increasing the Party organs’ capacity and fighting power.

+ To develop the strength of the national unity.

+ To maintain high and sustainable economic growth.

+ To raise quality, efficiency and competitiveness.

+ To take initiative in international integration.

+ To boost industrialization and modernization associated with environmental preservation.

+ To implement social security policies successfully and accordingly.

+ To further improve the people’s quality of life.

+ To preserve national defense and security.

+ To make Dong Nai a basic industrial and modern province in 2015.

Thanh called for the Party and the people of Dong Nai to boost up the patriotic emulation movement, to strive for reaching plan targets and tasks set in the 9th Dong Nai Party Congress’s resolution and to make contributions to the achievement of the targets and tasks set by the 11th National Party Congress.

This evening a ceremony will be held to celebrate the success of the Congress at Dong Nai Convention and Events Center.
