Hospital-university cooperation is to raise the quality of medical examination and treatment

Hochiminh City, December 14 – Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy signed a hospital-university cooperation agreement with the four Departments of Health of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Kien Giang provinces in the presence of the Minister of Health – Nguyen Quoc Trieu.

The signing ceremony

    According to Associate Prof. Dr. Vo Tan Son, the President of Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the long-term goals of the hospital-university cooperation are to alternately send its lecturers and postgraduates to the hospitals at provincial levels to deliver lectures and transfer technology to them. This project will start by March, 2010. Three clinics in Dong Nai province chosen to build the hospital-university cooperation model are Dong Nai General Hospital – Surgery, Dong Nai Children's Hospital – Pediatrics and Thong Nhat General Hospital – Internal Medicine.

    Addressing the signing ceremony, Minister of Health – Nguyen Quoc Trieu said that enhancing training through the hospital-university cooperation model would not only meet the shortage of medical staff, but contribute to improving the quality of training and medical examination and treatment
