On the morning of April 21, 2010, Long Khanh Party Committee, People's Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held the 35th anniversary ceremony of the Liberation Day of Xuan Loc and Long Khanh. The ceremony was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Phan Trung Kien – Member of the Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Defense; Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh – Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee and Chairman of Dong Nai People's Council; Military Zone 7’s representative leadership, military units fighting in Xuan Loc and Long Khanh battlefield, heroic Vietnamese mothers and the masses.

A parade to welcome the 35th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Long Khanh

This day, 35 years ago, Xuan Loc and Long Khanh dubbed the “Iron Door” was broken through, which enabled our regular army to attack and liberate Saigon, to win a historic victory on April 30, 1975 and to unite the country. After 35 years of promoting traditions, Long Khanh Party Committee, authorities and people have obtained a lot of achievements: Long Khanh has an annual GDP growth rate of 15%, its economic transition continues positively; its major sectors show a considerable increase in production value, its per capita income until 2009 reaches VND23 million, its social security policies are effectively implemented, its poor household rate according to new criteria declines to 3.17% and its social and cultural activities change dramatically. On this occasion, Long Khanh Town authorities inaugurated the stele monument for the martyrs of the battalion 440, disseminated emulation movements to Long Khanh people and expressed a strong determination to obtain achievements to welcome big anniversaries in 2010 and to aim for Dong Nai’s 9th Party Congress and the 11th National Party Congress.
