This year, the product "Information Security Management Suite" of Vietnam received a Special Mention from the international APICTA judging panel. Vietnam won a Golden Award in 2006. In 2008, either of Vietnam’s products won a Silver Award. And these two products were developed by Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology. Thus, this is the third time Dong Nai province has been honored to represent Vietnam at APICTA.

International delegates’ evaluation ideas said that award winning products belong to the countries strong in ICT.

It is known that APICTA is an annual ICT award for Asia Pacific countries. This award program was initiated by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia – Mr. Dato Mahathir Mohamat and was first held in Malaysia in 2001. Many countries in the Asia Pacific region have taken interest in investing and developing human resources in the ICT industry and had the projects or products developed by their university and high school students competed at APICTA.

APICTA awards 2010 will be held in Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia. We hope that Vietnam’s businesses, universities, high schools and ICT institutes will have many international standard products competed in this regional peak technology competition.

Vietnam’s APICTA 2009 delegation to Melbourne, Australia was led by Dr. Nguyen Quy Son. Vietnam’s International APICTA Judging Panel comprises Dr. Pham Van Sang – Director of Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Hieu – Director of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications of Ministry of Defence and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien – President of Viettel Technology Corporation.
