It issued 44 certificates of environment protection to breeding businesses in the district. Collecting garbage and wastes from inhabitants at 100% of the spots is given to infrastructure service and welfare center, communes and towns by the district. The drainage systems in industrial parks including a centralized system of drainage and waste water collection and treatment have been approved as planned. Up to now, Song May and Bau Xeo industrial parks alone have built waste water treatment zones. As for private and public sanitation projects, the number of households having sanitary septic tanks within the district accounts for 91%. It has invested in building four toilets at schools for teachers and pupils. It is estimated that 10 toilets will be built at schools in 2009. However, over the past years, violating environmental laws and polluting the environment in some small scattered businesses of breeding and slaughtering domestic animals and poultry haven’t been solved. Household garbage collection and treatment have achieved low efficiency.
