According to Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Van Vinh, the trade balance of Dong Nai and Taiwan is quite different. Dong Nai is the main import market of Taiwan. As reported by the Department of Industry and Trade, for the first 6 months of 2017, the import value of Dong Nai from Taiwan was about 776 million, increasing by 8% over the same period last year. Particularly in May and in June, Dong Nai import from Taiwan reached about $ 138 million per month, increasing by nearly 17% over the same period. Meanwhile, Dong Nai export to this market is rather low. For the first six months of 2017, Dong Nai exports to Taiwan only reached $ 162 million. Talking about the desire of Taiwanese investors in Dong Nai, Mr. Gian Chi Minh, President of the Taiwanese Trade Association in Dong Nai, said: "Dong Nai is the first choice of investors in Taiwan. According to our statistics, the actual investment capital of Taiwanese enterprises in Dong Nai through third countries reached about $ 8 billion rather than the official figure of $ 5.2 billion. "
The main difficulty of Taiwanese enterprises is that they still have to import main raw materials for production, resulting in the rise in the production costs. Taiwanese enterprises wish to expand cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises in order to increase the rate of using domestic raw materials in production to maintain the most competitive price.

Mr. Gian Chi Minh also shared: "I am also an owner of a business specialized in construction. At the trade conference, I saw many products introduced by Dong Nai’s enterprises from which we would like to make orders. The products of Vietnamese enterprises are very advanced. Taiwanese companies want Dong Nai to become a supply source not only in production materials but also in labor and other services and products."
Sharing the desire to cooperate with Dong Nai’ enterprises, Mr. Peter Wu, General Director of Sheng Bang Metal Company (Song May Industrial Zone, Trang Bom district), introduced: "Currently, there are over 500 employees in our company, which is specialized in manufacturing medical equipment for export to Japan market. We plan to expand our production facilities and look forward to finding local suppliers to reduce imports. "
According to some Taiwanese enterprises, they have already had many trade transactions with Vietnamese companies, but the cooperation is still unsustainable. Mr. Lai Hong Chuong, secretary of the Taiwanese Trade Association in Dong Nai, said: "Visiting the Dong Nai booths at the trade fair, we found many products that Taiwanese enterprises are in need of. Previously, supplying enterprises did have many trade opportunities with demanding ones because of lack connection. Taiwanese enterprises wish the Department of Industry and Trade to introduce us the production enterprises that have proper capacity and prestige.
