Commencement of the undercrossing tunnel project at Tan Phong intersection

​On the morning of August 8th, the construction project management board of the province has organized the commencement ceremony of the undercrossing tunnel construction project at the Tan Phong intersection (Bien Hoa city). Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Van Vinh attended the ceremony.


​Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Deputy Director of Dong Nai investment project management board, said that the project comprises of a 430m long tunnel (including 50m underground tunnel and 380m open tunnel) and the accesses to both ends of the tunnel which are 150m long. The total investment capital of the project is VND 259 billion derived from the provincial budget. Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) has won the contract to construct the main tunnel. The cross section of the underground tunnel and the open tunnel is 13m wide, accommodating two-direction traffic with 4 lanes and 60km / h of designed speed, there are 4 lanes on the side ways of the tunnel which allow 40km / hour speed. The project is expected to be completed in early June-2018.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Van Vinh said that this is an important project helping to ease traffic congestion during peak time for Nguyen Ai Quoc and Dong Khoi roads. Recently, the province has completed many traffic works such as: Hoa An bridge (new), Buu Hoa bridge, Amata flyover, Vung Tau intersection ... and many research projects in the inner city. TP. To ensure that the work is carried out on schedule, ensuring quality and traffic safety, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee remarked that the investor, the supervision consultant and the involved units must comply with the standards and technical procedures when implementing the project. In the course of construction, to closely coordinate with contractors in regularly inspecting the inspection of traffic safety, labor safety and environmental sanitation.
 
To ensure traffic safety during the construction of the tunnel, functional agencies will control the traffic flow, limit the vehicles travelling through the construction area, specifically as follows: On Dong Khoi Street, trucks and coaches (over 16 seats) are banned from Amata to Tan Phong intersection (the opposite direction is still accessible) and from junction 768 (Vinh Cuu) to Tan Phong intersection (the opposite directions is still accessible). Vehicles are also banned to access the direction from Pham Van Thuan intersection (Vuon Mit junction) to Tan Phong intersection (the opposite direction is still accessible) and from the 30/4 park (QL 1) to Tan Phong intersection (opposite direction is still accessible).
 
For vehicles less than 16 seats, 2 - 3 wheeled vehicles and rudimentary vehicles are recommended to avoid heading through the construction site. Private buses are normally circulated through intersections.
