For two days, April 3rd and 4th , Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong chaired the 8th Provincial Party Executive Committee meeting term X.
The meeting focused on addressing and collecting comments on the results of the implementation of the Resolution No. 06-NQ / TU of the provincial Party Committee on the objectives and missions of socio-economic development, security and defense in the province in the first quarter and the program of the second quarter of 2017; reports on the results of declaration of assets and income of the members of the Executive Committee of the provincial Party Committee.
According to the provincial Party Committee, production activities in the first quarter of the province continued to develop, especially in manufacturing industry, hi-tech industry, supporting industries and trade services. Industrial production index in the first quarter increased by 7.28% over the same period last year. Investment in fundamental construction has shown progress, some key projects are invested in an urgent manner. Since the beginning of the year, foreign investment has attracted USD 382 million, reaching 40.2% of this year’s plan; Domestic investment has achieved positive results with total newly registered and adjusted capital increase of VND 6,389 billion, gaining over 71% of the plan and increasing by 128% over the same period in 2016. Financing and credit activities has remained stable. Measures to ensure social security have been implemented in timely and practical manner. Defense and security is maintained.

In addition to the achieved results, the provincial Party Committee frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations which need overcoming. Specifically, in agriculture sector, the orientation, market forecast, support aimed to help farmers organize production is not satisfactory; The environmental pollution from breeding and mining activities is being slowly resolved; illegal sand mining still occurs in some places that raise concerns among the people; the planning and land management in some places is not tightly connected.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong directed that, in the second quarter, the Party Committees of all levels, departments, branches and localities focused on leading and directing the implementation of nine key missions; In particular, urgently review the targets and tasks set out in Resolution No. 06-NQ / TU of the provincial Party Committee and the results achieved after the first three months of the year to clearly identify the key tasks which need possible solutions to be implemented to achieve and exceed the set out objectives and tasks; promoting the province's economic transformation and development toward sustainable economic development; more specifically, effectively implement measures to improve the business environment, encourage start-up businesses, on the basis of accelerating administrative reform, create the best conditions for production and trading enterprises and attract investment under the provincial development orientation. At the same time, the effective implementation of trade promotion programs and services will be effectively implemented to enhance the ability to trade, seek and expand markets, facilitate brand building and increase export turnover; pay attention to agricultural development and promote new rural area construction program as planned; come up with measures to reorganize production toward the direction of linking with stable markets to reduce risk.
Clearly define the responsibilities of the sector and the local committees, strengthen the coordination between sectors and localities to further mobilize resources for development investment together with strengthening management and supervision over public investment to avoid loss and reduce waste. Focus on speeding up the implementation of key projects having great impacts on socio-economic development and urban landscape in Bien Hoa city. Strengthen the management of natural resources and environmental protection in the province; promptly prevent and strictly handle illegal exploitation and transportation of sand, soil and stone, causing environmental pollution and concerns among people.

Continue to implement the social security policies and effectively implement the national target program on poverty reduction. Strengthen the political security, social order and safety in the province. Take more measures to improve the activities of the Party's grassroots organization and improve the quality of sub-groups. Continue to seriously grasp the Resolution of the Central Party 4 (Term XII) in order to make a vigorous improvement in the work of struggle, self-criticism and criticism, to prevent the degeneration of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, "self-evolving", "self-transforming" manners; strengthen the unity of the Party, construct a clean and strong Party organization.
Within the agenda of the conference, the delegates had a chance to update information of "the 4th industrial revolution" lectured by Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien , Director of the Institute of Economics, Academy of Social Sciences Vietnam.
Call for investment in tourism services
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong emphasized that the two sectors that departments and sectors of all levels need to focus on the coming time include: firstly, calling for investment in the field of tourism services, taking full advantages of potential tourism, trade and service of the province. Secondly, focus on research and transferring seedlings to farmers.
