There, production cooperatives and Trang Dai safe vegetable services provide 5 tons of fresh vegetables for Co-op Mart and Bien Hoa markets each week. Standing before commercial needs of integration, the cooperatives were supported by Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology in registration for brand-name. Last March 16, the cooperatives have been issued certificate of brand-name for Trang Dai safe vegetables by bureau of intellectual properties. Since then, this product got enough factors to seek for domestic stable consuming market.
Because of awareness of unscientific applying of microorganism agents, noxious chemicals, protected-plant medicine that affect directly to public health, people in quarter 4, Trang Dai Ward dared to apply models of safe vegetable cultivation in net houses to make fresh safe products for market. Thanks to that, in 2004 the production cooperatives and Trang Dai safe vegetable service have been established with registration of 15 members with total charter capital of 54.000.000 VND.
To produce safe and qualitative vegetables, members learnt experience in many places, search information and attended to training classes of cultivating technologies and caring organized by the local. Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc- Chairman of the cooperatives and services said all members passed training classes for usage of protection medicine of plant effectively on vegetables according to directions of general epidemic; classes for cultivating technologies and balanced fertilizing on vegetable… Besides, encourage agricultural expansion center also supports the cooperatives in technologies, construction of net houses, 3 models of spraying and models of cucumber and bitter melon cultivation.
With the area of 60.000 square meters, the cooperatives crop 45-50 tons of standard vegetables each month. So monthly cooperatives’ income get 75.000.000 VND with the average calculation of 1.500 VND per kilo, therefore member’s income get 5.000.000 VND and each gets 1.500.000 VND profit per month after deduction. To this profit, many households overcome difficulties and enrich properly. However, Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc- chairman still worries about stable consuming market, he said supporting of agencies are appreciated, however seeking a stable market is really hard, so in the process of development, ceaselessly attempting of members is very necessary for the cooperatives to make qualitative products and introduction of safe vegetables to agencies, units as well as potential partners internal and external province.
In addition to grasping frequently and timely applying new kinds of seeds, nice models, likely anti- pest for high productivity, the cooperatives also apply quickly scientific-technological achievements on production. Last year, the cooperatives dare to invest on construction of preliminary treatment workshop of fruit and vegetable by ozone with total capital of 50.000.000 million in the area of 75 square meters and buy an ozone-made machine cost 9.000.000 VND to serve for preliminary treatment before bring to market.
To have products that attain standards of food hygiene fixed by governmental agencies, during last years the cooperative always carry out well 5 forbidden things of safe vegetable production: forbidding fresh fertilizer, dirty water for irrigation, abuse of medicine of plant protection, medicine out of admitted list, high- concentration medicine and forbidding crop during the time of medicine segregation. To the scientific methods, the cooperatives production and Trang Dai safe vegetable services deserve to achieve certificate of cooperative brand-name for safe vegetables from bureau of intellectual properties.
